Having my own clothing line and boutique has always been a dream of mine. Growing up in
Mississippi watching my grandmother sew and craft was a great blessing for me. I fell in love
with sewing, painting and pretty much anything creative.
Later after moving to California, I took the traditional approach and got a "good" corporate job.
I've worked in retail for over 15 years, both in the stores and in the buying office. However
after years of "Motherhood Guilt", I came to the conclusion that I needed to take a leap of faith
both for my children and my own sanity. I needed to create a career for myself that would
allow me to spend more time with and be more involved in my children's lives. I left corporate
America behind in 2005 and Itsy Glitsy was born in 2006.
I hope you enjoy my creations and classes and parties as much as I love doing it all!

I have many personalities and we all love to sew. I initially started out with just the name Itsy
Glitsy doing infant to size 6 clothing. I am transitioning to the name Raven's Nest to incorporate
a broader range. I think the name is perfect because I include a little bit of everything in my
little nest. This includes Material Grrlz, Sewing Classes & Parties. Material Grrlz is my
latest addition and I am so excited to see that kids are loving to sew and even added a sewing
machine to their holiday wish list! It feels great to see a child choose a sewing machine over a
video game and I love seeing how creative they are. I'm sure it won't be long before some of
them are creating their own clothing lines!
