My two daughters ages 8 & 9 have been taking sewing classes since this past
summer. This has become their favorite after school activity. I was
shocked to learn that they actually sewed on the first day of class. So far
they have made everything from hats, aprons, skirts and more. Yolanda even

My 13 year has been taking sewing classes since July 2010. I have been
amazed by her interest and her progress. She even asked for a sewing
machine for Christmas! Raquel continues to take classes and looks forward

We had a Material Grrlz Birthday Party for my 8 year daughter. Material
Grrlz was amazing, they brought sewing machines and all the materials to
my home. The little girls had a ball, they were all so excited, some of
them had never seen a sewing machine. They all made the most adorable
skirts and my daughter said this was "the best party ever"!

We just had a party on January 15 for my 16 year old. This was such a
great idea, it was so nice to see teenagers so excited about such a lost
art! The girls all made pillows and let their creative juices flow. Will
definitely do this again for my 10 year old in May!
